New year, new opportunities

cspg_logo_gcepI’m honoured to have been elected to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Study of Parliament Group. The CSPG is a non-profit and non-partisan organization that seeks to “foster discussion and enhance knowledge of parliamentary government.”

CSPG’s main work is to hold regular events that bring together academics, journalists, politicians, government relations professionals, and civil servants to hear presentations on how parliament works and proposals for reform. It also holds essay competitions for students, and commissions research publications, such as the recent series on provincial legislatures. In addition, the CSPG operates the James R. Mallory research grant, which supports academic research on Parliament.

Having benefited greatly from past CSPG events and publications, I’m excited to have the chance to give back to the organization.
